Blue Devil Coffee Shoppe Open for Business!

Coffee Shop
FBLA members and students taking classes through the Business Department have worked hard to get our second school enterprise open... The Blue Devil Coffee Shoppe.  The shop serves the "Cup of the Day, an assortment of hot teas and cocoas, individual "K" cups, along with an assortment of snacks.  Thank you to all who have helped support this student-led enterprise.

Hours of Operation:

7:30 - 8:45 (before school and 1st period)

10:45 - 12:25 (4th period - all four lunch periods)



FBLA UPDATE

Chapter 434 of FBLA at Model High School is off to a great start.  Members are doing an outstanding job recruiting so far with seventy active members  as of August 10, 2016.  Our membership goal is to become a Century Chapter at at least one-hundred members, so keep spreading the word and earning merit points by recruiting new members.

GOING to the STATE FAIR?

If you are planning to attend the State Fair on Thursday, October 13, 2016 with FBLA, you must be an active member and have your permission slip and money in by Friday, September 9, 2016.  Check the FBLA Chapter 434 Web Site for more information and forms.

NEW HOPE SCHOLARSHIP "
RIGOR" REQUIREMENTS COMING

Georgia Code 20-2-157 requires that certain course credits must be earned in order for students to be eligible to receive the HOPE Scholarship.  The requirements gradually go into effect for graduating classes of 2015, 2016, and 2017.  (Click here for more information).



MOVE ON WHEN  READY

Move On When Ready Act (MOWR), House Bill 149, was signed into law April 2009 as a dual enrollment opportunity for students to attend a postsecondary institution full-time during their junior and/or senior year of high school.  (Click here for more details)
